So.... Cierra and I decided that we were going to roast marshmallows in Calculus. So, she drew a fire in art, and brought four mega-sized marshmallows. We got to Calculus, and were setting out our supplies. Haley also got a marshmallow, and Ryan was a ninja and got there before anyone else so he got the last one. We stuck the marshmallows on the ends of pens and lay on the ground, roasting our marshmallows. :3 Our teacher, Tree, walked in and inquired as to what the heck we were doing. We replied that we were having a campfire, of course! So she decided that this was yearbook material, and got her camera. However, the batteries were dead so I said she could use the piccie that Nathe took on my camera. Aka, this one::
(Excuse my mega-paleness o.O)
And let's not forget the best conversation of all Calculus land:
(holding a drawing of a campfire) "Wow, Mrs. Trehearne, how do you cut your lines so straight?" "Duh, she uses a ruler." "'Cause she's a math teacher." "No, she found the slope of the tangent of the curve of the flame." "The derivative!" "YES!!"
And also, when we are trying to figure out what to do when solving for the derivative in simple problems, our questions go like this:
"So, do we use the chain rule for the first part and then use the product rule or do the chain rule for the second then do the whole thing, or do the product rule and then use the chain rule within it, or should we use the quantity rule?"
"So, do we use the chain rule for the first part and then use the product rule or do the chain rule for the second then do the whole thing, or do the product rule and then use the chain rule within it, or should we use the quantity rule?"
And Tree actually knows what we're talking about. She's a genius. xD
Mayu out~
